It was such an ordinary day. I was sipping on my cup of coffee in the porch while watching my good old neighbor wash his car. Unexpectedly, he asked me things about my car and told me that he is currently having difficulties with his auto insurance. We chatted for what seemed like hours and at the end of our chat, I discovered two things; one, we have the same auto insurance company and second, his auto insurance quotes are a lot lower than me.

So this “small conversation” with my neighbor haunted me throughout the day. He owns a shiny Lexus for art’s sake! I am not usually a bitter person but can you blame me now for crying out loud? The “ghost” of my monthly insurance bills did not stop there though. Since I can’t concentrate on work, I decided to study my car insurance details. I have learned (Oh boy, I really did), after several phone calls and explanations from ultra friendly customer representatives and my car insurance agent that the reason for such is my being a high risk policy holder! This left me in awe and my mouth open in aghast for like 2 minutes.

Am I? I asked myself. Suddenly, flashbacks of some so called incidents started to “slideshow” in my mind. I now remembered how hard I laughed when Borgy (my dog) decided to have my August car insurance bill for breakfast and since I never got hold of my bills again, it slipped out of my mind and started to pile up! There was even a flashback of one drunken moment with a co-worker where we decided to drive home, thinking we are superheroes anyway and “flew” right into another co-workers car. Thank God we only managed to ruin the bumper.

What I am to do? I live in complicated man’s world! But since I cannot accept the fact that my neighbor and his Lexus are paying less, it’s time for a change!
